Polyamide is mainly used in synthetic fiber. Its outstanding advantage is high wear resistance, which is 10 times higher than that of cotton and 20 times higher than that of wool. Adding some polyamide fiber into the blended fabric can greatly improve its wear resistance.
Nylon is a kind of synthetic fiber for industrial production, which belongs to aliphatic polyamide fiber. Nylon has good performance, high yield and wide application. Nylon is resistant to corrosion, mildew and insects.
The main physical and chemical properties of nylon are as follows:
1. Shape --- the longitudinal plane of nylon is straight and smooth, and the section is round. Polyamide is alkali resistant and acid resistant. In inorganic acid, amide bond of polyamide macromolecule will break.
2. Light resistance and heat resistance --- because the end groups of nylon macromolecules are sensitive to light and heat, resulting in yellowing and brittleness of nylon, the light resistance and heat resistance of nylon are poor, so it is not suitable to make outdoor fabrics.
3. Hygroscopicity and dyeability --- the hygroscopicity of nylon is better than that of common synthetic fibers, and the moisture regain is about 4% or 5% under general atmospheric conditions.
4. Strength, elongation and wear resistance --- nylon has high strength, large elongation and excellent elasticity.
